The Good Husband

The Curve, Volume 4.1, 2014 – Gone are the days when a good husband was clean-shaven, worked 9 to 5, handled the finances, and tucked the kids into bed. Husbands today are in the trenches. Whether or not they have kids, they are assuming a 50-50 split at home, keeping pace at work, minding their p’s and q’s with women, and paying for dinner to boot (because, you know, that’s just what men do). Today, the good husband is a master of all trades: He’s progressive, and he’s traditional. He’s emotional, and he’s rational. He’s on the sidelines, and he’s the MVP. Disagree? Just ask the 89% of women who say that “men are pressured to be both progressive and traditional: They are expected to support women’s rights and still pick up the check.”
